I AM DON JUAN by Danger and Roberto Sanchez

I AM DON JUAN
by Danger and Robert Sanchez

There is a raw and unabashed chaos that lives in every man; a monster hidden from plain sight. A duality of sorts, behind every calm exterior is a brewing storm, in every smile lies an adulterated spirit, and underneath the thin layer of skin and bones lies a story untold and a life unseen.

In I AM DON JUAN, masks are stripped, layers are peeled, and true natures are revealed.  With bold strokes and brazen emotions, Danger and Robert Sanchez dives head first and cuts through a sea of barriers and unearths the inner demons of the everyman. Paying tribute to the legendary Spanish womanizer, they dismantle deception and awaken the beast that sleeps in the human abyss.

Rob Sanchez is a DJ and a businessman, as well as a self taught artist. Though Sanchez has always been interested in art from a young age, after college he pursued his interest in music istead and would later become a DJ, selling records while he managed an audio systems enterprise. It was through a business partnership with an art gallery that his creative instincts were triggered once again.

Sanchez works are primarily expressionistic, dramatic portraits replete with distorted, thick lines and incongruous forming gnarly surfaces of painted faces. This artist duly approaches his paintings with a process that aims to capture the essence of his subjects.

In his return to art, he recalls painting one of the gallery’s visiting artist who called his work “disturbing”, an affirmation which Sanchez took positively. In no time, his paintings gained a steady demand from his friends and people from his immediate social circle have been asking him to do their portraits or of somebody else. Now earning good response from audience, he stridently confronts his talents with finessing reassurance that went dormant for many years.
